Rajon Rondo is supremely talented, if a bit mercurial. He’s a unique personality at the absolute least, and an important part of the success of a New England sports team.

When painted in such broad strokes, Rondo starts to sound a bit like another Boston area sports figure: former New England Patriot Randy Moss. Very different athletes in very different games, but both captivating, highly productive, and downright strange.

Vague comparisons aside, is Rondo really Boston’s new version of Moss? Are these two offbeat athletes really comparable enough to be considered analogous across sports?
