According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Courtney Lee is a Boston Celtic, as the Celtics just completed a sign-and-trade deal with the Houston Rockets to send forward JaJuan Johnson over for the shooting guard.

This is a huge pickup for the Celtics, as not only have they replaced Ray Allen with the likes of Jason Terry and Lee, but they have improved dramatically.

Lee is a very good three-point shooter, as he shot over 40 percent from downtown this past season. He is also known as a solid defender.

The acquisition of Lee will now give Boston plenty of breathing room until Avery Bradley returns from shoulder surgery, and it also gives the C’s backcourt a plethora of options, including Lee himself, Bradley, Terry, and of course, Rajon Rondo.

I think it is now safe to call the Celtics’ offseason a huge success. Not only did they grab Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo in the draft, but they re-signed Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, and Chris Wilcox, brought in Terry for the midlevel exception, and now landed Lee for a player in Johnson who probably would have never gotten much of a chance in Doc Rivers’ system to begin with.

Ray Allen who?
