The New York Knicks may be without Carmelo Anthony again, so Raymond Felton looks to continue shaking off his own injury in an attempt to pick up the slack in his absence.
Raymond Felton scored a season-high 27 points, and the New York Knicks connected on 18 3-pointers to more than offset the absence of Carmelo Anthony while topping the Miami Heat 112-92 on Thursday night.
MIAMI — With the Knicks’ No. 1 offensive option, Carmelo Anthony, out of the lineup on Thurdsay night, Raymond Felton facilitating the pick-and-roll became top priority.
And the Knicks’ starting point guard did not disappoint.
Felton finished with a team-high 27 points to go along with seven assists and two steals, leading the Knicks to another 20-point defeat of the defending champs.
“Raymond has been playing unbelievable,” Tyson Chandler said after the game.
The Knicks, in every sense of the word, are legit. Their 112-92 victory over the Miami Heat, with Carmelo Anthony sidelined, was emphatic, decisive and yet not very surprising when you consider the state of both clubs.

The Knicks gave the Heat their first home loss of the season, dropping them to 8-1, thanks to their 18 3-pointers (40.9 percent). And, amazingly, they blew out the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, and defending champs for that matter, without Carmelo Anthony (left middle finger laceration). Yes, you heard that right.
When the Knicks beat the Heat in their season opener back on Nov. 2 at the Garden, 104-84 (also a 20-point win), they also did it from beyond the arc.
We are really going to need a great game from Carmelo Anthony. I hope he is able to play. Your in-game thoughts here. Go New York, Go New York Go! UPDATE: No Melo tonight. Get ready for fifty-odd shots from Ray Felton and J.R.!
MIAMI — Addressing reporters before the Heat game, Mike Woodson said that Carmelo Anthony is a game-time decision.
Melo did go through walkthrough on Thursday morning, and Woody suggested that his star player will take the court against their longtime Eastern Conference rival.
“The concern is if he’s not Melo. If he says he’s going to play, he’ll play,” the coach said. “I’m sure he’s going to be just fine.”
If Anthony can’t go, Woodson still has confidence that other guys will contribute more.
