With 20 seconds left in the game and Los Angeles Lakers up by one against the Boston Celtics, everyone assumed that Kobe Bryant would be taking the last second shot. Instead, Bryant calls a play for big man Andrew Bynum in the post. Bynum sky hooks the shot over the defender Kevin Garnett giving the Lakers a three-point win over the Celtics.
Down by one with 11 seconds left in the fourth, the Sacramento Kings needed a bucket. Defender Isaiah Thomas steals the inbound pass, then immediately passes it down the court to John Salmons for the go ahead lay-up. The Kings go on to win 99 to 98.
With the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers tied at 91 with three seconds left in overtime, Dwayne Wade’s pump fake forces a foul by defender Paul George, hitting the shot with a tenth of a second left. Wade knew with the pump fake and foul that even if he missed the shot he would have a second chance to win the game at the foul line.
